Wood and bone game sets are a great precious item, here you see both International Chess sets and Chinese Checkers or "Marble Chess" as well.  Dominos and cards are also found in these hard wood boxes which are solid and heavy, but luxurious to see and touch.

The pieces are made out of various kinds of bone, typically Cow Bone, as of course ivory is no longer available but the traditional carving skills that were once used for ivory are maintained and used in these other forms.
